Unconscious bias training
22 Jan 2016
The University has arranged a number of one hour lunchtime sessions on unconscious bias
The sessions will include: a review of the research around the nature of unconscious bias, the impact of our decision making around recruiting, performance management and promotion, and ‘what works’.
Focusing on the process of unconscious bias allows individuals to think about their prejudices and habits, to acknowledge them, understand them and then take action to reduce them.
The sessions will take place between 12.30pm and 1.30pm on 20 January, 1 February, 25 February, 7 March and 22 March. The sessions are open to any member of staff or student and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Each session can hold up to 100 participants.
