Enjoy mulled wine and baked treats in School of Social Sciences
09 Dec 2015
You are invited to the SoSS Christmas charity bake on 10 December (12-2pm) in G.002, Arthur Lewis Building
Members of undergraduate PSS staff in the School of Social Sciences are holding, for the fourth year, a charity Christmas bake. It has proven a great success in previous years, raising hundreds of pounds for local charities and bringing staff together.
This year, they have chosen to raise money for “The Christmas Dinner” which is a project led by the University’s chancellor, and poet, Lemn Sissay. “The Christmas Dinner” works to provide a Christmas Day dinner for young care leavers who otherwise may have no family to spend Christmas with.
Members of the team all work hard to bake beautiful savoury and sweet delights, from quiches, pies, pastries, biscuits and decadent cakes and decorate the office and turn it in to a festive grotto with music and lights and cheer (and possibly even an old Christmas film!) Members of staff and students from across the university are invited to come and join them for a mulled wine and lunch, or even just a cake to take away.
