26 Nov 2015
Read all about the revolutionary spirit that defines our University
The University’s new magazine will be available online and across campus from Monday, 30 November – and promises to showcase our revolutionary work through fascinating articles and beautiful imagery.
The University of Manchester Magazine is an expression of the spirit of exploration, discovery and innovation that defines our University, celebrating the achievements of our staff and students past and present, and inspiring stakeholders around the world to make us a partner in their ambitions.
In it we allow the people of our University to tell their stories, revealing a place where research tackles the world’s biggest problems, where students become global citizens and where social responsibility is at the heart of all we do.
Through news, in-depth features and the highest-quality photography and design, we’ll be communicating the ways in which the University is engaging with the world.
This first edition includes a captivating interview with our new Chancellor, Manchester poet Lemn Sissay MBE. He tells us how he wants to inspire and be inspired at the University.
“I could not be in a more inspiring place on earth than The University of Manchester,” he says. “I can stand on solid foundations: I’m wanted here and that makes me incredibly proud and makes me feel that, at this time in my life, this is where I should be, doing this.”
