Distinguished award for Alliance MBS academic

Philip Shapira, Professor of Innovation, Management and Policy at Alliance Manchester Business School and a Director of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research, has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
This distinction recognises individuals for meritorious efforts to advance science or its applications. The Fellowship citation for Professor Shapira highlights his “distinguished contributions to science, echnology and innovation policy, particularly for contributions to improved understanding of effective means of modernizing manufacturing.”
Professor Shapira said: “I am truly honoured to be elected as a Fellow of AAAS, pleased to receive this recognition from my peers, and enthusiastic to continue to contribute to the AAAS aim of advancing science, engineering, and innovation for the benefit of all people.”
Founded in 1848, AAAS is the world’s largest general scientific society.
