University appoints Associate Vice-President – Internationalisation

Professor Stephen Flint to implement our new Internationalisation Strategy
The University has appointed Professor Stephen Flint to the new position of Associate Vice-President – Internationalisation.
Stephen has been Associate Dean for Internationalisation for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences since April 2012, alongside his role as Professor of Stratigraphy in the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences.
He has worked to build deeper research links with overseas Universities and research institutes, global industrial partners and governments. Over the last 2 years he has led Faculty teams of academics on relationship-building visits to Brazil, Colombia, Saudi Arabia, India, Chile and Singapore. He recently served a six-month term as Interim Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
Stephen will be responsible for implementation of the University's new Internationalisation Strategy and will work closely across all Faculties and with the Senior Leadership Team to grow overseas research income, overseas PhD student numbers and to ensure that Manchester students have opportunities for international experience.
