Kids say the funniest things

26 Oct 2015

Free, drop-in sessions on Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 November (11am- 4pm) in Manchester Museum

Kids Say The Funniest Thing

Come along for a weekend full of family-friendly fun at the Manchester Museum and discover more about the science behind the way we learn to communicate with language. Join child language researchers and museum staff for hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations and informative talks about how children learn to talk.

Take part in storytelling and book reading sessions, have a go on our eye tracker and learn about how language learning may differ in other cultures or with other languages. Answer burning questions such as, Why do children make funny mistakes when learning to talk? Does technology help or hinder language learning? How do children learn new words?

Organised by the ESRC International Centre for Language and Communicative Development (LuCiD) in collaboration with the Museum, this event is part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science.
