Issues with University network file storage - follow up
26 Oct 2015
Issues with access to personal and shared file storage - resolved
Update 2 - 08:50, Thursday 29 October
After discussion with our external supplier, a cause for the issue has been identified.
Our supplier has suggested a software upgrade to fix the problem permanently. Careful planning is already under way to implement these improvements, and we will announce the dates for this work when these are confirmed.
The Personal (P:Drive) and shared network storage service has continued to remain stable and no further incidents have been reported. Until the upgrade work is complete, we will continue to monitor the service very closely. We are reviewing activities to minimise the impact to the service as a precautionary measure, and the platform should be considered at risk until the upgrade is completed.

As of 12.28pm, the network storage appears to be stable, but we are working closely with our supplier to find the root cause of the problem.
Initial message - 11:46, Monday 26 October
This is affecting access to P:Drives, shared network drives and some features of Managed Desktop PCs.
This is under urgent investigation and we'll update this article with more information as soon as we have it.
