Manchester screening of Inspiring Entrepreneurs

21 Oct 2015

Hear ground-breaking stories of what can be achieved in business

The Business and Intellectual Property Centre Manchester, part of Manchester Central Library, is hosting the Manchester screening of Inspiring Entrepreneurs.

Kanya King MBE, CEO and founder of the MOBO Organisation, will be hosting the panel discussion on what can be achieved in business with the right attitude and determination, screened live from the British Library in London.

Joining Kanya are June Sarpong MBE, TV presenter and founder of Lipgloss Productions, designer Yinka Ilori and Levi Roots, Reggae Reggae entrepreneur.

They will be joined in Manchester by local entrepreneur Farida Anderson MBE from Buzzrocks, established in 1990 in the Moss Side and Hulme area providing true Jamaican food to the community.

Initially operating from a small trailer at events such as Glastonbury and Womad, the business opened their first restaurant in Prestwich, Manchester, which gained a strong local reputation for its authenticity and atmosphere. As well as their new outlet in Hulme, Buzzrocks now has a second outlet in Moston, officially opened by two loyal, regular customers – Ian Brown of the Stone Roses and Finlay Quaye. Currently developing a range of home-use retail products carrying the Buzzrocks brand, the company has won numerous awards, including 'Best Black Urban Business in the North West'.

The screening, on Tuesday, 27 October 6-9pm at Manchester Central Library in St Peter's Square, is free but places must be booked.
