Manchester Science Festival: Bloodlines
23 Oct 2015
Friday 30 October, 7.30pm, at the Martin Harris Centre.
Follow the story of a young man diagnosed with a deadly leukaemia who undergoes a stem cell transplant in a bid for survival. After the performance, there’ll be a talk on pioneering new treatments for cancer and the chance to discuss related issues with the show’s creators, including a leukaemia survivor and his stem cell donor.
Featuring a soundtrack composed by blood cells and captivating visual effects, this dance-lecture hybrid offers a visceral insight into the miraculous and macabre treatment of leukaemia, which has historically led the way for cancer research.
