Why Telling Tales is a good thing
12 Oct 2015
Manchester Science Festival 2015 exhibition
Social communication disorder impacts on the lives of many children and young people – the Telling Tales exhibition aims to raise awareness by exploring the relationship between language, storytelling, identity and creativity.
It also examines the role of art engagement in healthcare science, stemming from interactions and conversations between young people, carers, therapists and artists in a research project conducted by the University and supported by the Wellcome Trust.
The exhibition will run from Monday, 19 October to Thursday, 19 November at Central Library, floor 1.
Telling Tales is collaboration between members of the Language Development and Disorders Research Group, School of Psychological Sciences, Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences, and Dr Jenna C Ashton, arts researcher, writer, curator, at our School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.
