Upgrading OSX on Apple Mac computers

Be wary of upgrading to new operating systems before testing.

The new Mac operating system, OSX 10.11 ('El Capitan') is available for download from Apple.

However, we advise you not to upgrade until it has been tested on our network with University email, on-line storage, network printing and Virtual Private Network services.

We would recommend waiting until the 10.11.1 update is available which often resolves all bugs found on general release. This is standard advice based on all operating systems.
