University social scientist comments on employment of undocumented migrants
Professor Alice Bloch from the School of Social Sciences was interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s File on 4 on 23 September. She was asked about the effectiveness of government policy on the employment of undocumented migrant workers, and the potential impact that the ‘shadow economy’ of badly treated and badly paid unofficial migrant workers could have to drive down wages for all workers.
