Busy Bees celebrate 100 years of the Women's Institute
22 Sep 2015
Members of the University's new workplace Women’s Institute - called the ‘Busy Bees’ - joined in the recent national celebrations of the organisation's centenary
With over 6,600 groups nationwide, the WI is the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK. The Busy Bees is one of only seven workplace WI groups in the country and is the first of its kind in Lancashire.
The group is now 36 members strong and three of them met for lunch on 16 September to celebrate 'a century of inspiring women'. The photo shows: (left to right) Lindsey Loughtman, Susan Johnson and Ruth Burns.
If you'd like to join the group, make lots of friends, and improve or learn new skills, why not join the Busy Bees? All staff and students are welcome. Watch out for further meeting announcements on StaffNet News.
