The Careers Service has won a national AGCAS Award for Partnership with Professional Services in recognition of its successful collaboration with the University’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR)
The joint initiatives, which were designed to enhance student employability, included Meet the Professionals speed networking events, Manchester Gold mentoring, and Global Graduates.
The judges' verdicts were as follows:
- “Really impressed by the range of ideas and programmes that Manchester run, taking into account a number of key issues from a student and employer perspective”;
- “impressed by the depth, breadth and systemic and strategic approach to this ongoing collaboration and partnership”;
- “the reflective assessment and evaluation shows real evidence of impact and positive feedback from all involved.”
Manchester fought off strong competition from the other two shortlisted universities of Liverpool and Durham.
The award was presented by Hannah Clements, Head of Career Development and Coaching at GSM London, sponsors of the award, to Tammy Goldfeld, Head of the Careers Service, who said: “We were delighted to receive this award. Alumni engagement and this single team-working approach between DDAR and the Careers Service is significantly contributing to student employability.”
