Do you work closely with exceptional students?

Student profiles are vital in order to get our messages out to potential applicants most effectively

For our 2016 publications, we’re keen to maximise the use of the student voice to demonstrate what we can offer our students during their time here. Personal experiences from peers are much more effective in captivating the attention of our readers than a description of a service from ‘The University’.

If you work with exceptional students who you think could tell their stories with flair and bring our services to life, we’d love to hear from you.

We want students who have something to say – who are proud of what they’re doing at university, and want to share their experiences with those thinking of coming to Manchester.

We’re looking to cover all aspects of university life but will need to focus on certain topics to meet the objectives of particular publications.

We’re interested in students who take part in extra-curricular activities including clubs and societies, sports or volunteering; have taken part in flagship schemes such as PASS, University College or peer mentoring; have accessed financial support, received bursaries, attended pre-sessional language courses or used the careers service; and those who make the most of our facilities and services, such as the library, fitness and wellbeing and student accommodation.

We’re would like to hear from a wide variety of student and would be particularly interested to hear from mature students, international students, part-time students, and students who live at home.

Students who volunteer to be involved will need to agree to have their story shared in our publications, on our website and social media, and be happy to be interviewed on camera. Students will be given the opportunity to preview all material before it is published.

Initially, students who come forward will be asked to provide some basic details. We will then contact them if and when we feel their profile is relevant to a particular project or publication.

We cannot guarantee that all students who come forward will be chosen to feature in a student profile, as this depends on the priority topics for the project or publication, and the demographic of other profiles.
