Liquid Crystals: special education session for the public and schoolchildren
18 Aug 2014
On Monday, 7 September in C16, Renold Building (Exhibition 5-6.15pm, Lecture 6.30-7.30pm)
As part of the European Conference on Liquid Crystals (ECLC 2015), to be held in Manchester in September 2015 and co-chaired by Professor Andrew Masters and Helen Gleeson (recently of this University), there will be an outreach event and a public lecture on liquid crystals/nano-technology on the afternoon of Monday, 7 September.
The University is sponsoring the accompanying drinks reception, and alumni and school children have been invited to the event.
It is designed to be an entertaining yet instructive session, with hands-on practical experiments and a lecture full of demonstrations, which should be of interest to many staff across the University, and their families.
