Senior appointments in Engineering and Physical Sciences

Professor Kevin Taylor has been appointed as the new Head of the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Science (from 1 December 2015) and Professor Bill Sampson has been appointed as the new Head of the School of Materials (from 1 August 2015)

Vice President and Dean of the Faculty Professor Martin Schroder said: "I would like to place on record sincere thanks from all of us to the outgoing Heads of School, Professor Hugh Coe (SEAES) and Professor Paul O’Brien (Materials), for their very many contributions and strong commitment to their Schools, to the Faculty and the University over many years. They have both made outstanding contributions. Thank you!

Two other Faculty appointments have also been confirmed recently. Professor Steve Yeates (Chemistry) has been appointed as the Associate Dean for Research, and Professor Lin Li (MACE) has been appointed to the new role of Associate Dean for Business Engagement and Development. Professor Schroder added: "I wish them well in their roles and very much look forward to working with them."

In order to strengthen Faculty leadership across research, teaching and learning and business engagement, three Assistant Associate Dean posts will shortly be advertised within EPS.
