University delegation attend inaugural A*STAR Symposium in Singapore

In order to further promote and extend the existing PhD Programme and research collaborations with A*STAR Research Institutes, Singapore, an exciting two-day Symposium was held in Singapore 21-22 July

Academic representatives from the Faculties of Life Sciences, Engineering and Physical Sciences and Medical and Human Sciences travelled to the event held at A*STAR in Singapore. Current PhD students on the Programme presented posters and shared their experiences of living in Singapore.

Some excellent presentations were given by Manchester delegates and a Speed Networking session was arranged to help identify further research links with a view to developing a broader range of PhD projects for future intakes.

During the visit, the Manchester delegation attended the Annual University of Manchester Alumni Association Singapore's networking event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The reception included speeches from Professor Martin Humphries and Mr Hian Seng Tang, President of UoM Alumni Association Singapore, followed by a panel discussion.
