Proud to support Pride
29 Jul 2015
The University has officially launched its participation in Manchester Pride 2015
Supported by members of the senior management team, the launch took place with a photo shoot incorporating this year’s theme ‘Devotion’.
This will be the fifth time the University has participated in Manchester Pride (we have previously taken part in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) and this time we’ll be theming the entry around ‘The University of Manchester – Devoted to Equality since 1824’. There will be a historical story told highlighting some inspirational figures from the University’s past and present.
Everyone is welcome to participate in our entry on Saturday, 29 August – staff, students, friends and family. All entrants will get a free T-shirt! You just need to indicate your participation and T-shirt size in the following poll:
“This is a great opportunity for all staff and students to be involved in an important event for the University and the city of Manchester. Being a part of our walking entry demonstrates inclusivity and support for LGBT colleagues, students and future recruits,” said Karen Heaton, Director of HR and LGBT Champion.
