Senior Managers courses

The Staff Training and Development Unit offer two courses aimed at Senior Managers, which have been designed to support you in your management role: Senior Managers 360 Feedback Programme and Coaching Skills for Senior Managers.

Senior Managers: 360 Feedback Programme

This is an opportunity for Senior Managers to obtain 360 feedback in order to identify any personal development needs. This includes identifying and building on their strengths and looking at their potential development areas.

The programme consists of an initial briefing session to enable participants to select the most appropriate colleagues to provide feedback. They will also have the opportunity to discuss any concerns they may have about the process. 

The questionnaires are collated by an external company and a follow up 1:1 meeting will be scheduled with a Staff Development Advisor from the STDU who will work through the report with them.  Coaching support will be offered in order to help identify the next steps in their personal development. 

Executive Coaching support may be provided if required.

Coaching Skills for Senior Managers

This one day workshop will enable managers to understand what is meant by coaching and begin to adopt a coaching style with in the work place.  

During the session they will identify key features of one to one coaching and the benefits of a coaching style for supporting team and individual performance. They will identify and use the skills needed for effective coaching and how to apply a simple structure to coaching conversations. They will discuss the use of appropriate feedback to support the coaching process.

They will identify formal and informal/ongoing opportunities to coach their direct reports and others and identify the next steps in putting a coaching style into action.
