Hospice sends certificate of thanks for £3000 raised at festival stall

Francis House Children's Hospice has acknowledged the help given from all areas of the University to raise funds for its work at the recent Didsbury Festival
Opened in 1991 by the late Princess Diana, Francis House Children's Hospice aims to provide care for children and young adults with life-threatening illnesses in a safe and happy environment, as well as providing friendship and support for their families.
Last month, Mary Clare, Records Officer in Compliance and Risk, organised a stall at Didsbury Festival in aid of Francis House - and succeeded in raising nearly £3000 for the hospice. In recognition of the hard work put in by Mary and her family, Francis House has given the University a certificate of thanks for the money raised.
The certificate recognises the tremendous support given to Mary by colleagues at the University, including donations of raffle and tombola prizes for the festival. Help came from many different areas of the University: without it, the amount of money raised would have been significantly less.
The Francis House Trust is running further fundraising events this year, including a stall at the Didsbury Car Show in Didsbury Park on Sunday, 12 July (12-4pm) and a charity night in Altrincham on 28 November.
