Current Childcare Voucher Scheme remains open while Tax-Free Childcare delayed
The government has confirmed that the implementation of Tax-Free Childcare has been delayed from this autumn until early 2017. The delay has been due to the legal challenge by a group of childcare voucher providers on the appointment of NS&I to deliver Tax-Free Childcare.
The effect of this delay is that our current Childcare Voucher Scheme (Kiddivouchers) will remain open to new entrants until Tax-Free Childcare is launched. Parents who wish to remain in a Childcare Voucher Scheme once Tax-Free Childcare is launched will be able to do so.
The government has committed to release exact rollout dates for Tax-Free Childcare in due course, but has not yet committed to exact timeframes.
