University wins NUS/UKCISA 2015 Internationalisation Award in "Best Careers Support for International Students" category
The nomination focused upon the Careers Service’s partnership working and student support activities undertaken during the past 12 months. These include:
- employer events (China fair, international webinars and workshops);
- collaboration with DDAR for international “Meet the Professionals” events, mentoring and online country networks;
- recent materials in the new Academic Adviser toolkit for working with international students.
The other shortlisted nominees were the University of Birmingham, last year’s winners, and The University of Sheffield.
The awards are sponsored by UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs), the UK’s national advisory body serving the interests of international students and those who work with them.
The NUS's new International Students Officer, Mostafa Rajaai, and Chief Executive of UKCISA, Dominic Scott, presented the awards on 3 July at the closing plenary of the UKCISA Annual Conference at the University of Sussex.
