Lunchtime Strollers in the national news
23 Jun 2015
The University's walking group has been mentioned in an article in The Telegraph about lunchbreak activities in summertime
Writer Olivia Rudgard's suggestions for making the most of summer include outdoor activities, lunch on a roof garden, big screen picnics and ice cream breaks.
In a section entitled 'Go for a walk' (appearing by happy coincidence beneath a photo of Manchester alumnus Benedict Cumberbatch), she writes: "Lunchtime Strollers in Manchester run walks several times a week open to students, staff and general public which cover interesting areas and buildings around the University."
You can read Olivia Rudgard's full article at:
The Lunchtime Strollers' walks take in local green spaces, as well as interesting local buildings and events (such as Victoria Baths, Manchester Museum, and Whitworth Art Gallery).
And don't be put off by the weather - walkers venturing out on wet days sometimes take shelter (and refreshment) in the tea room at Elizabeth Gaskell House.
So if you'd like to get out, get active and meet new people, why not join the Lunchtime Strollers at one of the following times:
Mid-week walks
