University launches Veg box scheme
08 Jun 2015
Pick up a veg box filled with locally sourced organic veg every Tuesday on campus
On Tuesday, 2 June, the University launched a veg box scheme in association with Manchester Veg People, who supply delicious, locally sourced organic veg to University catering.
Veg boxes start from £8 and include a great selection of organic veg and a newletter which has lots of recipe ideas to give you some inspiration. Orders are collected from outside George Kenyon Hall on Tuesdays between 12pm and 5.30pm.
We've had some great feedback from those who collected veg boxes for the first time this week. Alison Aucott, Head of Hospitality and Events, said "I am very impressed with the variety and quality of the veg. I have already made a yummy courgette frittata with some of the contents and am looking forward to seeing what's in next week's box".
Veg Box People will also be selling Trove artisan bread from the local bakery and eggs from Abbeyleys Organic Farm.
