The CIEH Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Principles is a half day course that covers the theoretic elements of Manual Handling and is awarded by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
Some of the most common forms of work-related ill-health are back problems and other aches and pains. These injuries are most commonly associated with the manual handling of materials, by either trying to move excessive weights or a failure to use correct lifting procedures. This qualification is aimed at those for whom manual handling forms a regular or significant part of their role and provides essential information about manual handling hazards and their control.
On completion of the course you will will be able to:
- Identify and understand the risks associated with manual handling
- Learn the value of risk assessment and how to apply it
- Make recommendations to manage risks
