Manchester Business School redevelopment
22 May 2015
Preparation for work on parts of Oxford Road
Further preliminary works are to be carried out as part of the Manchester Business School (MBS) redevelopment from Tuesday, 26 May; this signifies the beginning of the preparation works for the demolition of the bridge over Oxford Road.
Work begins with laying of ducts that will take the copper cable for the voice networks and will start from Devonshire House and be carried out in sections up to Oxford Road.
The week commencing 1 June will see trenching in the footpaths on either side of Oxford Road outside the old Ryman’s store and Crawford House.
Pedestrian access to Devonshire House and under the Precinct Centre bridge will be maintained including access to the retail units Spar, Blackwells and Starbucks.
Regular updates will now be provided on ongoing works leading up to and including the demolition of the bridge this summer.
