BigData@MBS
A network project proposal to EPSRC and ESRC on Re-Distributed Manufacturing, Consumer Goods and Big Data (RECODE) involving MBS researchers from MSM and MIOIR has been successful, following a national competition and panel interview.
The RECODE Network brings together academic partners (at Cranfield, Manchester, Brunel, Cambridge, and Teeside) and a series of business, research, and non-profit organizations in the UK and internationally to explore the applications and interactions of user engagement, big data, and redistributed manufacturing in new models for designing, producing and using consumer goods.
MBS researchers in the core team are Babis Theodoulidis, Philip Shapira and Kathy Keeling. Associated partners include the Sustainable Consumption Institute, the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the Information Commissioner’s Office, IBM, Philips and others. Cranfield is the lead academic partner.
