Women pay tribute to suffragettes at The Pankhurst Centre
Women celebrated equality on polling day when they dressed up as suffragettes at The Pankhurst Centre.
They made banners and spoke to the public to remember the hard-fought campaign to give women the vote.
The message of the day was: Women are here today raising the profile of the Pankhurst Centre, the birthplace of the WSPU and the Votes for Women campaign.
The University’s researcher in residence at The Pankhurst Centre, Sophie Preston, said: “We want to give a big thanks to the women who took part and remembered the great campaign that gave us suffrage and equality.”
