WMIC team tackle 10k walk to support St Ann’s Hospice
06 May 2015
Three colleagues from the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre (WMIC) are undertaking the Manchester Midnight Walk on 19 June
Julia Pash (PA to Professor Sir Salvador Moncada - Institute of Cancer Sciences), Lizzie Barnett (Validation & Compliance Coordinator/Deputy Technical Operations Manager – WMIC) and Lesley Fawcett (QA Assistant – WMIC) are supporting St Ann’s Hospice on 19 June by taking part in the Manchester Midnight Walk.
It’s 10k and, as the name suggests, no running is allowed but it starts at midnight - when they would normally be tucked up in bed.
They’ve already passed their initial target of £250 but would like to raise as much as possible for this great cause. So please help make it even more worthwhile for them to keep their eyes open by sppnsoring them at:
St Ann’s Hospice is Greater Manchester’s largest hospice and helps around 3,000 patients (over the age of 16) and their families and carers every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses. The Hospice provides care on three sites and in people’s own homes, working in partnership with acute hospitals, primary care trusts, community services and voluntary organisations. Care is free but St Ann’s Hospice has to raise £16,000 every day to enable their specialised staff to provide the highest quality care (that’s £11 a minute).
