Remembering the hard-fought campaign for votes for women
01 May 2015
Join in tribute to the suffragettes at The Pankhurst Centre on Thursday, 7 May
The Pankhurst Centre is holding an event to remember the suffragettes and their hard-fought campaign to give women the vote, and to celebrate equality.
The message of the day is: Women are here today raising the profile of the Pankhurst Centre, the birthplace of the WSPU and the Votes for Women campaign.
Attendees are invited to dress up as suffragettes, make banners and chat to the public at the Centre. They are asked to wear a black skirt and white shirt and a suffragette-style hat, if they have one.
The event will be held at The Pankhurst Centre, 60-62 Nelson Street, Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester, M13 9WP, from 10.30am on Thursday, 7 May.
Simple placards will be made from 10.30am – feel free to bring your own materials.
