Nuclear power, cancer, fossils and Egyptian mummies – all down the pub

The Pint of Science Festival brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you. 

The Pint of Science festival aims to deliver interesting, fun, relevant talks on the latest science research in an accessible format to the public – all in the pub! 

It is run by volunteers and was established by a community of postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in 2012. The festival takes place over three days simultaneously in pubs across the world.

This year, the Manchester team have brought together a wide range of University of Manchester speakers to create exciting events.

Topics include the debate on nuclear power, breaking bad stereotypes with researching cancer, real life experiences dealing with Alzheimer’s, how ancient fossils and Egyptian mummies provide society with information in the present day and how maths and comedy can be the perfect combination.

The event will take place Monday, 18 May to Wednesday, 20 May.
