Second corporate responsibility award for Hospitality and Events team
10 Apr 2015
Their superb work in support of the University's social responsibility goal has earned our Hospitality and Events team a second Cost Sector Catering Corporate Responsibility Award
Judged by industry leaders, the award is given to the organisation that has, above all others, integrated social, economic and environmental concerns into its business.
After scooping the award for the first time in 2013, the University’s team have now won further recognition for their environmental processes, customer engagement, labour standards, employee and community relations and sustainable sourcing.
Alison Aucott, Head of Hospitality and Events, said “It’s great to see the team’s efforts rewarded in this way. We have made great progress with ethical and local sourcing, managing waste and working towards improved environmental standards in the last 12 months and there is real passion in the catering teams to forge further ahead in these areas.”
The awards were presented at a ceremony on Thursday, 9 April at the London Hilton Metropole. Shown in the photo are: (L to R) host and comedian Paul Sinha, Adele Procter of award sponsor McCain Foods, Emma Barlow, Head of Residences Catering and Bars, and Alexander Clark, Environmental Coordinator.
