147 bus diverted for two weeks

The service will follow a different route while Charles Street is closed for resurfacing works from Monday, 30 March to Monday, 13 April

As a result of the roadworks, the 147 bus will not be able to use Charles Street (as far as Princess Street) and Sackville Street during this period. It will be diverted as follows:

From Piccadilly Station

The bus will follow its normal route along Whitworth Street up to the junction with Sackville Street, where it will continue up to Princess Street and then turn left. It will then travel along Princess Street up to the traffic lights at Charles Street, where it will re-join its normal route.

Passengers who normally catch the bus on Sackville Street will be unable to do so. A temporary bus stop will be erected on Whitworth Street.

To Piccadilly Station

The bus will follow its normal route along Oxford Road (All Saints). Instead of turning right onto Charles Street, it will continue up to Whitworth Street (Palace Theatre), where it will turn right and proceed along Whitworth Street to Piccadilly station, re-joining the normal route after the junction with Sackville Street.

Passengers for Sackville Street can alight on Whitworth Street at the existing bus stop just after the Sackville Street traffic lights.
