Open your eyes to the arts: volunteer at Manchester International Festival
05 Mar 2015
The University is sponsoring MIF for the first time in 2015 and our staff are invited to take part in the volunteers programme
The University is a Silver Sponsor of The Manchester International Festival (MIF), which will take place between 2 and 19 July 2015.
Launched in 2007, MIF is the world's first festival of original, new works and special events and takes place biennially. It is an artist-led, commissioning Festival presenting new works from across the spectrum of performing arts, visual arts and popular culture.
There are numerous ways for our staff and students to engage with MIF15: one of these is the chance to be a volunteer at the Festival.
MIF would not be able to deliver a world-class festival without the help of their volunteer team. They would like to encourage staff and students from the University, as one of their supporters, to participate in the volunteers programme.
Along with work experience, the benefits of volunteering with MIF15 include:
- an opportunity to see a commission;
- a welcome event;
- a thank you party;
- lots of chances to engage with other volunteers and MIF staff.
"Volunteering at MIF was 100 times better than I ever thought it could be! It opened my eyes to the arts and reminded me of all the reasons why I love Manchester. I met amazing people and got to see phenomenal shows that I wouldn't have otherwise seen - it was a fantastic experience and worth every second." MIF Volunteer 2013
