Arts and Science Collaboration

Nine creative projects have recently been funded by the University to highlight the impact and benefits of collaborations between arts and science researchers and artists

As a prelude to Manchester as European City of Science in 2016, resulting performances, events and exhibitions will take place throughout 2015 including a performer exploring the placebo effect, to plant scientists creating Ernest Rutherford’s garden at Manchester Museum.

The University has an excellent record of collaborations and partnerships between the sciences and the arts. This has included teaching between arts, humanities and science students, research projects between colleagues or with outside organisations and large-scale public engagement events. There will be teaching, research and engagement impact benefits to these collaborations with the projects contributing in creative ways to our social responsibility agenda.
