Manchester forges US links through the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office

Dr Neil Ashton from the Modelling & Simulation Group in the School of MACE has been awarded a Travel Fellowship to spend time in the US to promote UK-US links in "Computational Fluid Dynamics" research.

Supported by the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office’s Science & Innovation Team, Neil has helped to organize several events at the recent American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics SciTech conference, helping to bring together UK and US academics and industry experts to explore possible joint projects and collaborations.

The funding comes from the UK-US HPC network: The Manchester branch is coordinated by Dr Lee Margetts. The network has been awarded funding by the EPSRC to help boost UK-US collaborations in High Performance Computing. There is still funding available, and Manchester researchers are encouraged to apply.
