Policy@Manchester: Open Lecture on work of a Shadow Minister with Lucy Powell MP

27 Jan 2015

Free event on Friday, 13 February (11am-12.30pm) in Lecture Theatre 2 (Ground Floor), Crawford House (refreshments upon arrival)

Lucy Powell MP

Policy@Manchester and the Parliamentary Outreach Service present the Lucy Powell (MP for Manchester Central) open Lecture on the work of a Shadow Minister, at the University.

The official opposition party appoints MPs and Members of the House of Lords to 'shadow' government ministers, in order to scrutinise the work of government. The lecture will provide insight into that shadowing role.

Lucy Powell was elected MP for Manchester Central on 15 November 2012. She served as Shadow Minister for Education from 2013 to 2014 and is currently Shadow Minister for the Cabinet Office. Prior to entering Parliament, Lucy worked for the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA)
