The Society of Cosmetic Scientists has around 1000 highly qualified members with industrial and/or academic experience of cosmetics and related sciences. This event will bring together senior industry representatives with academics from the across the University to identify opportunities for future collaboration. Confirmed industry attendees include Unilever, Estee Lauder, PZ Cussons, Croda, Johnson & Johnson, Superdrug, iFormulate, BASF, Broad Oak Toiletries, LF Beauty, CPL Aromas, Sainsburys and many more companies including large corporations and SMEs.

We are pleased to announce that the event will be opened by Professor Chris Griffiths, world-leading dermatologist and Centre Lead for Dermatology at The University of Manchester. Dr Neil Parry, Director of Disruptive Sustainability & Biotechnology Research, Unilever, will present an overview grand industry challenges, followed by a networking lunch and poster exhibition showcasing examples of how industry commercialises technology from academia and the academic research expertise on offer to resolve key industry R&D challenges. We will also be joined by Innovate UK (Technology Strategy Board) who will highlight their strategy for supporting collaboration and associated funding schemes.
Collaboration with industry provides the opportunity to demonstrate research impact by applying your expertise to real-world issues. Other benefits include high quality journal and conference papers, income generation, career opportunities via projects and secondments, improved understanding of industry requirements for academic teaching and future research agendas. This is an opportunity for academics strengthen existing relationships, as well as forge new and exciting partnerships with the cosmetic industry.
