Rewarding Exceptional Performance Policy
11 Dec 2014
The Rewarding Exceptional Performance Policy is now open for nominations
This policy, formerly known as Recognising & Rewarding Exceptional Performance Policy, has been revised by a team comprising representatives from across the University following useful feedback received via the Staff Survey.
The main provisions for awards under both the Exceptional Performance and Sustained Exceptional Performance categories remain unchanged, with awards up to the value of one increment.
The process for academic and research staff will continue to be conducted by the School and Faculty Promotions Committees.
However, in order to streamline the process, all nominations for PSS staff within the Faculties, central Professional Support Services, the Library and Cultural Institutions will now be determined by local management panels.
As a result of the Staff Survey highlighting a need for improved feedback, measures have been put in place to improve the communication from panels to the line manager, who will now be responsible for giving feedback to the members of staff.
New Guidance notes for managers/panels/employees have also been produced to assist the nomination, review and appeal processes.
Nominations in respect of PSS staff within Faculties, central Professional Support Services, the Library and Cultural Institutions are welcomed to be received by Monday, 9 February 2015; for academic staff the timetable is set locally.
