Royal Astronomical Society celebrates bicentenary with outreach fund

Bring your ideas to a network meeting at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre
To celebrate its bicentenary, the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) is establishing an £1 million Outreach and Engagement Fund to support astronomy and geophysics projects that create a real buzz about science – understanding, discussion and dialogue – in diverse sections of the community.
The Society's aim is to fund a number of projects to engage the wider public with the sciences they support, with a key goal being to work with groups that are ‘hard to reach’.
If you're involved with a local or national organisation that might be able to help, the RAS would like to invite you to a meeting at the Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre on Saturday 23 November.
The meeting programme will include a short overview of RAS 200, followed by initial pitches for ideas and a ‘speed networking’ session to allow partners to develop combined plans and more detail on the funding application process.
