If so, the University has Funds to help them and is particularly keen to support students who show enterprise
The University offers three travel awards annually for students wishing to travel either as part of their course or during University vacations:
Zochonis Special Enterprise Fund
Awards from the Zochonis Special Enterprise Fund will be made to assist currently registered students with the cost of a project or special study which demonstrates enterprise or originality of thought in planning and execution.
H E David Scholarship
The purpose of the H E David Scholarship is to foster international understanding and goodwill by enabling students of the University to travel and study in foreign countries.
Pawel Koprowski Award
The purpose of the Pawel Koprowski Award (one award of up to £600) is to support a currently registered student's vacation activity. It may be used for a purpose which will enhance studies or for a holiday. The one use which is excluded is attendance on a course at another university
H E David Scholarships and Bursaries differ from Zochonis Special Enterprise Awards in the following respects:
- In making the awards, preference is given to travel and study on the continent of Europe;
- The awards are open to men and women who have graduated from The University of Manchester not more than three years previously, as well as to currently-registered students who have completed satisfactorily at least two academic years in the University;
- The funds available for disbursement are much more limited, both in the number of awards made and the amounts given (normally less than £800).
The deadline for receipt of applications is 20 March 2015.
