Afrovibes festival at the Contact Theatre

06 Oct 2014

Afrovibes festival is just three weeks away, starting on Monday, 27 October and finishing on Saturday, 1 November

It features dance, drama, music and more from some of South Africa’s best artists including hugely popular music trio The Soil. They perform a blend of gospel, pop and soul influenced tracks a cappella and have just released their second album – the first one having gone platinum.

We also have Mamela which uses dance, song and theatre to tell the uplifting true stories of a group of South African women who lived through the end of Apartheid and the birth of the ‘new South Africa’; Rainbow Scars – about the experiences of an adopted child growing up in a family of a different race; a dance double bill celebrating what freedom means to South Africans and much more.

Several shows and events are free and family friendly, making them the perfect half-term treat.
