This message is a final reminder about accessing and preparing your Blackboard course space (Bb course) for the new academic year
Your Bb course should by now have been activated. If you still need to activate your course, please see the instructions included in the earlier message:
When do students see my Bb course?
Bb courses became visible to students on Monday, 8 September 2014 (unless you selected a different option when you activated your Bb course). Please make sure your courses are activated and populated with content.
How do I access Blackboard to see my Bb course?
You can access Blackboard via My Manchester for staff. Click on the link to Blackboard in the Teaching category of links (you may need to click on ‘View all’).
Ensuring your Bb course has appropriate content for the start of year
Please review the article on Preparing Blackboard 9 courses for start of year and semester 2 (STAFF), available on the Knowledge Base. It includes:
- the process required in order for Bb courses to be made available to students in Blackboard;

What if a student can’t see the course in Bb9?
It can take up to 24 hours from when a student enrols on a course until it is available to them in Blackboard. Please direct your students to the support pages on My Manchester (www.studentnet.manchester.ac.uk/blackboard) for further advice and information.
Blackboard 9 maintenance periods for 2014/15
The following dates have been scheduled for Bb9 maintenance and downtime at Easter 2015. Bb9 will be unavailable from 16:00 on Thursday 26 March until 12:01 on Monday 30 March 2015. We hope that this early notification will enable you to factor in these dates when timetabling assignment submission dates and key course activities.
