'Humans of Humanities' project launches
12 Sep 2014
From 15 September 2014, student photographers will capture 'Life in Humanities'.
The Faculty of Humanities launches its ‘Humans of Humanities’ project during Welcome Week 2014. This involves a year-long project to create an online gallery of portraits and captions which provide an insight into the lives of people associated with Humanities at The University of Manchester. At the end of the academic year, an exhibition will be presented featuring the work of all photographers captured during the 12 month period.
The project is inspired by the ‘Humans of New York project’ created by American photographer Brandon Stanton (www.humansofnewyork.com).
Student photographers from the University’s Photographic Society will be tasked with capturing ‘street style’ photography in and around the University’s campus. Each image will be accompanied by a story or caption which adds depth to the image. Please look out for our student photographers as they will begin ‘snapping away’ during Welcome Week. (Image approval will be sought from all those participating).
Images will be published via the Humans of Humanities social media channels.
