Matthew takes a shower for charity

Matthew Ball-Foster from University Place faced the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA)
Matthew, who works as a Building Attendant, was drenched with a bucket full of icy water on the University Place concourse earlier this week. He was raising funds for the charity MNDA, which focuses on MND care, research and campaigning.
MND is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. As a result, messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting and difficulties with walking, talking, eating, drinking and breathing.
Although there is currently no cure for MND, symptoms can be managed to help people with the disease to achieve the best possible quality of life.
