Swap Shop ready for a new term of sustainable fashion

Sport Development Coordinator and Sustainability Enthusiast Katy Young has been helping to run a clothes swap shop at the Eighth Day Cafe for just over a year, and wants to let staff and students know it's now monthly!

She said: "It's a really great way of refreshing your wardrobe whilst supporting charity and protecting the environment by reducing landfill. All we ask is for a minimum of three items or a £1 donation to charity. There's no limit to how much you can take home and any leftover items are taken to a charity shop."

The swap has also proven popular with international students who may not have items so suitable for the Manchester climate but who don't want to spend money on items they won't take home.

The swap takes place on the last Thursday of every month, with drop off of items from 6pm and the swapping starting at 6.20pm.
