Bioenergy at Manchester day

06 Aug 2014

Learn about the University's bioenergy research on Wednesday, 10 September (9.30am – 4.30pm)

The UK is implementing a major expansion in bioenergy to support its renewable energy and climate policy objectives. On Wednesday, 10 September, Manchester Energy are running “Bioenergy at Manchester day”, a one day event for members of The University of Manchester to learn about the bioenergy research taking place within the University and to find out about potential sources of funding for new bioenergy projects.

The Bioenergy at Manchester event will:

  • Showcase The University of Manchester’s role in the bioenergy sector.
  • Bring together colleagues who are working on, or are interested in working on, bioenergy research.
  • Offer an opportunity for all attendees to publicise their research interests.
  • Raise the visibility of bioenergy and facilitate new partnerships for research activity focusing on particular projects or highlighting skills that could be applied to bioenergy research.
  • Provide information relating to some potential sources of funding for bioenergy related projects.
  • Provide a platform for PhD/early career researchers working on bioenergy to showcase their research.

This event is open to all University of Manchester staff with an interest in bioenergy, but of particular interest to those wishing to facilitate new collaborations as well as PhDs/early career researchers looking to disseminate their research. The event will open with our keynote speaker, Professor Stephen Yeates (Associate Dean of Research in EPS) before moving on to showcase current research at the University. The afternoon session will focus on identifying potential partners and funding opportunities. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
