Teaching and Learning Showcase was a Grand Day Out!
15 Jul 2014
100 members of staff attended the latest Faculty of Humanities Teaching and Learning Showcase in Crawford House on Tuesday, 1 July
This was the Faculty’s 8th in a series of bi-annual events which began in 2011. The day was a great success and included a well-received keynote speech by Manchester University alumna Kate Little from the National Union of Students.
The theme for the day was Student Engagement, which provided inspiration for a diverse and stimulating programme of presentations. Presentations included the new University of Manchester Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, The Blackboard Catalyst Award, Student Support at the University Place Atrium, student generated content in lectures, The Library’s My Learning Essential online resource and the use narrative techniques to engage students in lectures.
One attendee stated "Thanks to all the team for making this such an inspiring event, I enjoy it every year – it’s very down to earth and inclusive, I feel a part of something that is great."
