Running to raise money and awareness for endometriosis
20 May 2014
New staff member Clare Mayo is preparing to take part in the Colour Run at Heaton Park in June
This is a 5K run with a difference - participants also have to dodge the coloured cornflour which is thrown at them throughout the race!
Clare, a Teaching Fellow in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Works, aims to raise awareness (and money) for Endometriosis UK, the leading UK charity providing support and information for this chronic and debilitating disease.
Endometriosis affects 1.5 million women in the UK and can drastically impact on quality of life - physically, mentally, personally and financially.
